An estimated 50 - 70 million adults in the U.S. have a sleep related disorder. In 2011, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) declared insufficient sleep as a public health epidemic. Disorders such as
sleep-disordered breathing (SDB), and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) have been linked to hypertension, diabetes and depression.

Sleep – or lack of it – also affects our brain, causing potentially dangerous situations when working with machinery or driving a car. The brain needs adequate sleep to operate at full capacity. Without sleep, the brain’s ability to solve problems or think critically is greatly compromised.

Are you getting enough sleep? If not, we can help. Together with our partner, Atlantic Health Sleep Centers (AHSC), we can provide the proper testing to determine your overall sleep health. AHSC maintains locations at Morristown and Overlook Medical Centers. PAA physicians are always a part of all sleep disorder testing. For more information about what to expect from a sleep study, known as a Polysomnogram, please visit the AHSC web site at www.ahsleepcenters.com
